Steve has repaired computers at the same Glendale bench since 1988. Over 38 years the media has changed completely — floppy drives, then optical drives, then SATA hard drives, now NVMe SSDs — while the method has not: find the actual fault, say plainly whether the machine is worth fixing, and fix it only if it is.
His work extends past computers to anything built on a printed circuit board: vintage electronics, audio equipment, arcade boards, and synthesizers. Component-level diagnosis and micro-soldering are the parts of the trade most shops stopped doing when board swaps got cheaper, and they are the reason customers arrive at Technoland after being turned away elsewhere.
Technoland does not do networking, IT contracts, or printer repair, and says so up front rather than taking the job.
