Custom PC Builds in Glendale, CA

Typical price · From $150

Hand connecting power cables to a graphics card inside an open PC case

Custom PC builds at Technoland start at $150 in labor, plus parts. Total budget for a working gaming PC typically lands between $1,000 and $3,000 depending on what you want to play and at what resolution. We spec the parts list, source everything, build it, install Windows, and hand you a tested machine. Most builds take 3 to 7 business days from when parts arrive.

  • Diagnosis first: a $75 bench diagnostic identifies the actual fault before any work is quoted, and it applies toward your repair.
  • From $150 is a starting estimate, not a quote — the firm price comes after the diagnostic, and nothing proceeds until you approve it.
  • Typical turnaround is 3-7 business days, depending on parts availability and how severe the fault turns out to be.
  • Backed by a 30-day labor warranty, with parts warranty depending on the parts source. Steve has done this work for 38 years.
I've watched a lot of builds fail in the same place: the power supply. It's the part people cut to afford a better graphics card, and it's the part that takes the rest of the machine with it when it goes. I'd rather spec one tier down on the GPU and put that money in the PSU.

Honest scope

What we don't do

We don't push the most expensive parts when cheaper ones work just as well for what you're doing. If you're playing competitive esports at 1080p, you don't need a $1,500 GPU. We don't do extreme overclocking or custom water-loop builds (those are a specialty hobby — there are shops that focus on it). And we don't build PCs we wouldn't run ourselves.

Where we're different

  • 01

We spec parts to your actual budget and use case. No upselling.

Steve told me my old laptop wasn't worth fixing, instead of charging me to find out. That's the only kind of repair shop I trust.

FAQ

Frequently asked

A solid 1080p gaming PC starts around $900-$1,000 in parts plus our $200 build labor. For 1440p, plan on $1,500-$2,000+. For 4K or competitive streaming, $2,500+. We can build to a tight budget too — just tell us what you're playing and we'll tell you what's realistic.

Either works. If you've already picked parts (Newegg, Amazon, Micro Center), bring them in and we'll build it for $150-$200. If you want us to spec and source, we add a small markup on parts and the labor goes up to $200-$300. We don't gatekeep — most customers do a mix.

Absolutely. Bring any case, fans, RGB strips, or aesthetic parts you want. We'll build inside it. We charge a flat labor rate regardless of how fancy the case is.

We install Windows 11, drivers, and basic configuration as part of the build. Game installs take a long time and use a lot of bandwidth — we'll usually let you sign into Steam at home and pull your library. We can do a starter install in-shop if you want.

Yes. Custom small business desktops with quality components (no consumer drives, ECC RAM if needed, good power supply) typically run $1,200-$2,000. We can match what you'd spend on a business-grade Dell or HP, often with better specs.
