At Technoland in Glendale, we do component-level soldering, capacitor replacement, IC repair, and PCB restoration on vintage computers, audio equipment, arcade boards, industrial controllers, synthesizers, and just about any electronics that resemble a computer. Diagnostic is $75 and applies to the repair if you proceed. Most jobs are quoted within a day of inspection.

Honest scope
What we don't do
Some boards aren't worth the labor. We'll tell you up front if repairing a $40 device will cost $300 in time. We don't do BGA reballing on modern game consoles or laptop GPUs that need specialized stencil work — that's a different specialty.
We don't work on high-voltage equipment beyond standard line voltage (no industrial 480V, no medical equipment, no vintage tube TVs with intact CRTs). And we don't have schematics for everything — if your board is undocumented and we can't find a schematic, we'll tell you what we can and can't diagnose.

Yes. We work on Apple II, early Macintosh (Classic, SE, II series, 68k Macs), early PowerPC Macs, and modern Macs. Older Macs often need recapping (replacing aged electrolytic capacitors that have leaked) and sometimes IC replacement. Quote depends on what's wrong.
Yes. Recapping vintage audio is common work for us. A full recap on a 1970s receiver typically runs $200-$500 depending on the model and how much restoration the customer wants. We don't do speaker reconing — that's a specialty service we'll refer you to.
Yes. JAMMA-standard arcade PCBs, vintage Atari, Williams, Capcom, and modern indie arcade hardware. Diagnosis is $75. Repair varies widely — some are quick capacitor swaps, some are deep diagnostic work. We'll quote after we look at it.
Yes. Bring us your board, schematic if you have one, and the parts. Custom soldering work runs $75-$250+ depending on complexity. We can do through-hole, surface mount (down to 0402 components comfortably), and most QFP/QFN packages. BGAs we'll evaluate case by case.
Vintage analog synth work is welcome — recapping, voice card repair, replacing failed ICs, restoring control surfaces. We don't do firmware-level work on digital synths beyond capacitor and component replacement, and we're not a Moog or Roland authorized service center. But if it's a board-level electrical fault, we can usually help.
Bring it in. The $75 diagnostic tells you whether it's repairable, what the repair would cost, and whether it's worth the money. If the board is destroyed beyond repair (severe damage, missing components, traces lifted), we'll tell you that up front and the diagnostic is the only thing you pay.
