# Cybersecurity Tips for Home Computer Users

You don't need to be a tech expert to keep your computer safe. These simple steps will protect you from the most common threats.

Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Turn on 2FA for your email, banking, and social media accounts. Even if someone gets your password, they can't access your account without the second factor.

Recognize Phishing

Be suspicious of unexpected emails asking you to click links or provide information. Check the sender's actual email address, not just the display name.

Secure Your Wi-Fi

Change your router's default password. Use WPA3 if available, WPA2 at minimum. Never use WEP. Consider changing your Wi-Fi password periodically.

Keep Software Updated

Enable automatic updates for your operating system, browsers, and applications. Updates often contain critical security patches.
